The Blue Badge is the UK’s national guiding scheme and is recognised internationally as the qualification of excellence in site and heritage interpretation, and in communication skills.

My qualification is for Central Southern England which covers world-famous sites such as Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Blenheim Palace, the New forest and the Jurassic Coast  as well as some of our most historically significant cities including Oxford (my alma mater), Winchester, Salisbury, Portsmouth and Southampton.

​

As a long-time Jane Austen enthusiast, this summer - to mark the 200th anniversary of her death - I will be leading a series of day tours around her home in Chawton, Hampshire, where she wrote (or re-wrote) all of her six great novels. I'm combining a walk through the surrounding countryside that she knew so well with a visit to her home which is now a world-class museum.
